What is a legal business registration address?

What is a branch office?

A branch office is an extra physical location from which you can conduct your daily business activities. For example, if you already own a foreign holding, you can choose to expand to a certain country by opening a branch office there. A branch office is not necessarily a legal entity, since you are not obligated to create a new company in the Dutch Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce. If you want to, this is a possibility, though. In any case, a branch office is a place you can do business from at an alternative location, allowing you to expand your current business. A registered branch office is a legal address from which the company is allowed to conduct its business operations. The address is the official address you provide to the authorities. In the Netherlands, it is mandatory to register your branch office with the Chamber of Commerce, even if the branch is not a separate legal entity. A registered office is sometimes referred to as a virtual office in the Netherlands, although this can also refer to only a postal address.
