As an entrepreneur, do you sometimes feel that the boundary between work and private life is becoming increasingly unclear? You are not alone, as the number of people working from home has risen sharply in recent decades - and especially in the last year due to the coronavirus pandemic!
Working from home has many advantages, such as organising your time better, more flexibility in the hours you work and of course also in terms of comfort. There something very relaxing about looking through your post in the morning from the comfort of your home.
Over time, however, more and more entrepreneurs realise that a minimum separation between work and private life has some advantages. For example, would you prefer not to have customers or third parties contact you after a particular time? Then you can clearly indicate this on various media, such as your website or email sign-off. But does everyone stick to this? Unfortunately, figures show that this is not the case. As a result, there is a chance that you and your family may experience unforeseen difficulties in your business activities.
If you work as a therapist, psychologist, bailiff, or own a website, for example, you will understand that it is essential to create a clear boundary within which you do not want to be contacted. Otherwise, this will take up your privacy and that of your family members. When one of your customers or consumers has an urgent question, they can very easily reach you via the information listed online. This should always be done via a different number so that you and your family also have time to rest.
In other circumstances, it may also be sufficient just to change your postal address. For example, freelancers can significantly benefit from a business address because the mail no longer arrives at home. This saves a lot of work every month, especially if you choose a location where the mail is stored digitally and physically. Which option you choose mainly depends on your personal preferences and the degree of anonymity you wish to experience.
